I am currently a librarian in a film school. One of the largest segments of our collection include DVDs (for obvious reasons). Among the many formats offered with the purchase of a DVD include the regular DVD, Blu-ray, 3d, and (important to my case) digital copies. I am researching the legal/copyright implications of being able to allow students and staff access to these digital copies for the purposes of scholarly communication and whether or not exceptions to current copyright law will be in support or work against the library.
