I was adopted at the age of two months by a schizophrenic woman and her husband... What articles like this "mean to me" is that they will offer me a way to make sense of my own life, which has consisted of fifty-six years of exhausting contact with the person who raised me, and to ease my own mind, because better understanding of a thing like this creates a level of comfort and mental ease on one's own part that is hard to comprehend unless you've lived a life like mine.
