In conformal gauge, this is equivalent to a CFT on a strip. In order to maintain consistent boundary conditions, the usual conformal diffeomorphisms must be accompanied by a certain $$U(1)$$ gauge transformation. The resulting conformal transformations are generated by a twisted stress tensor, which has a central charge $$c = 3k E^2 \ell^4/4$$ where $$k$$ is the level of the $$U(1)$$ current. This is an $$AdS_2$$ analog of the Brown-Henneaux formula $$c = 3\ell/2G$$ for the central charge of quantum gravity on $$AdS_3$$. en_US dc.description.sponsorship Physics en_US dc.language.iso en_US en_US dc.publisher Institute of Physics en_US dc.relation.isversionof doi:10.1088/1126-6708/2009/04/026 en_US dc.relation.hasversion http://arxiv.org/abs/0803.3621 en_US dash.license OAP dc.subject high energy physics theory en_US dc.subject AdS-CFT correspondence en_US dc.subject 2D gravity en_US dc.subject space-time symmetries en_US dc.subject dS-CFT correspondence en_US dc.subject gravitation en_US dc.subject cosmology en_US dc.subject particle physics en_US dc.subject field theory en_US dc.title Central Charge for $$AdS_2$$ Quantum Gravity en_US dc.type Journal Article en_US dc.description.version Author's Original en_US dc.relation.journal Journal of High Energy Physics en_US dash.depositing.author Strominger, Andrew E. dc.date.available 2012-02-10T20:27:51Z
