The first chapter examines how competition among financial regulators affects financial stability and product pricing in the US life insurance industry. The second chapter, coauthored with Spencer Kwon, studies how investors react to news and proposes a systematic predictor of underand-overreaction to news based on a psychological theory of expectation formation.
