2026-02-272026-01-06https://dash.harvard.edu/handle/1/42730784I am writing a series of blogs entitled 'Searching for God,' and see a parallel between the early 18th century ideas of the Enlightenment, and the rise of Romantic poetry, especially with respect to restoring the connection (unity) of man and nature. I believe other researchers have begun to discover and explore this potential. My search is to attempt to find language, thought and images that echo the Romantics, into which the church might begin to 'dig' in order to help re-balance the tectonic shift away from the ephemeral, ineffable, abstract and imaginary over to the rational, literal empirical.
