Publication Front and back contact modification as a route to increasing open circuit voltage in CZTS,Se devices(2015) Haight, Richard; Gunawan, Oki; Gershon, Talia; Lee, Yun; Ek, Bruce; Gokmen, Ravin; McCandless, Brian; Bishop, Doug; Lloyd, Mike; Gordon, Roy; Jayaraman, Ashwin; Vogel, Mike; Chua, Danny; Kummel, Andy; Sardashti, Kasra; Chagarov, EvguenyPublication Rescuing Auxotrophic Microorganisms with Nonenzymatic Chemistry(Wiley-Blackwell, 2013) Lee, Yun; Umeano, Afoma; Balskus, EmilyOrganic chemistry to the rescue: Two unrelated nonenzymatic chemical reactions can support the growth of auxotrophic E. coli strains by generating essential nutrients in situ. These biocompatible reactions, which take place in the presence of the organisms and are designed to interface with cellular metabolic processes, provide a means of linking the growth of an organism to the success of a nonbiological chemical transformation.Publication Thiourea-Catalyzed Enantioselective Iso-Pictet-Spengler Reactions(American Chemical Society, 2011) Lee, Yun; Klausen, Rebekka S.; Jacobsen, EricA one-pot condensation of isotryptamines and aldehydes that affords enantiomerically enriched 4-substituted tetrahydro-\(\gamma\)-carbolines is reported. The reaction is induced by a chiral thiourea/benzoic acid dual catalyst system. Purification of the N-Boc-protected products by trituration or crystallization provides the optically pure tetrahydro-\(\gamma\)-carboline derivatives in a scalable and highly practical procedure.
