Abstract

Seeds of Evil is the story of 12-year-old Max Peters. Max is a typical 6th grader. He’s shy around girls and is a big horror fan: books, movies, comics, you name it. His favorite holiday is Halloween. Most importantly, though, he wants to be popular. He and his best friend, Dylan Levy, get the chance of a lifetime when they are selected to become members of an exclusive cool club at their middle school. The only catch is they must perform initiation tasks to get in. Their latest task is to taunt awkward sixth grader, Veronica Griffin. They achieve this task at a local farm that results in the destruction of her pumpkin. After eating roasted pumpkin seeds from Max’s pumpkin, both boys encounter strange, paranormal events. The worst, though, is their skin starts changing color...to orange. The boys are literally turning into a pumpkin! They soon discover that Veronica is a witch and she cursed them for their cruel treatment toward her. The boys race to reverse the curse before they fully turn into a pumpkin and become part of Veronica’s pumpkin patch forever!
