Abstract

Global health has been significantly impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic, and cardiovascular disease is no exception. This research indicates that adhering to the MIND diet may lessen complications connected to heart disease, such as high blood pressure, heart attack, and stroke, even if a direct link between the MIND diet and obesity has not been demonstrated. This research is a way forward for readers to have an insight into how diet, mood and cognition play a huge role in our everyday lives. People with heart disease faced additional difficulties in seeking medical care during the pandemic. The pandemic has raised questions about how factors such as disruption to daily life and changes in eating habits affect the health of people with heart disease. People with heart disease are also at higher risk of severe COVID-19 and are more likely to be hospitalized and die from the disease. We have seen how COVID-19 can harm the brain and impair cognitive function in heart disease patients. As it is seen in this thesis, the DASH and the MIND diet showed improvement in cognitive function and mood in subjects with heart disease. There was positive data that showed when eating a healthy diet that limits fats, there is an increase in overall health, including better cognition.
