Toward a Pagan Bioethics

Abstract

This thesis approaches the subject of biomedical ethics through a lens of contemporary Paganism. As an academic work it examines the Abrahamic religious roots of current biomedical ethics before offering up an alternative method for the engagement of religious values within our medical care systems. Constructing a Pagan theory of bioethics accompanies this Additionally, an anchoring watercolor cover painting, and a guided meditation on the natural elements is interwoven within this thesis. Together they can be invoked and contemplated during the reading of this paper, providing the reader with an opportunity to somatically, as well as spiritually engage with the intellectual concepts being presented.
