Abstract
In my dissertation, I study the impacts of macroeconomic policies and shocks on industrial development in emerging markets. Chapter 1 discusses the impacts of exchange rate movements on prices and trade in Ethiopia. Chapter 2 studies the impacts of mass education on industrialization in Indonesia. Chapter 3 examines recent manufacturing employment trends in India and their determinants.
