Abstract

Thirteen-year-old Lillian has a secret: she is reverse—she is a girl but everyone thinks she is a boy. Lillian is terrified that anyone who finds out will reject her. Then, the mountain witch arrives in town with her talking cat, Tolif. The witch is traveling to Mirror Lake, to see what is troubling the world, and she is looking for a companion. Lillian decides to tell her best friend that she is reverse but is rejected. Frightened that her best friend will tell the town, Lillian chooses to go with the witch and Tolif. This Middle Grade novel is for all those who are different. I Heard the Ravens Call My Name lets them explore a magical world where the most magical thing of all is living your truth.
