Hankins, James. A mirror for statesmen: Leonardo Bruni's history of the Florentine people. Unpublished paper, Harvard University.
Abstract
The History of the Florentine People (1415-1442) is an important but neglected locus of Leonardo Bruni's political thought. Close study of the work shows that Bruni's way of thinking about politics is in some respects much closer to Machiavelli than it is to Aristotle.
