Abstract

An analysis of the reception of Petrarch in Italy and Europe from the late fourteenth through the sixteenth centuries, based on the circulation of his texts in manuscript and printed editions. Also contains a discussion of Petrarch's failed attempt to gain access to the canon of Latin literature.
