Abstract

This paper describes the Advanced Forensic Format (AFF), which is designed as an alternative to current proprietary disk image formats. AFF offers two significant benefits. First, it is more flexible because it allows extensive metadata to be stored with images. Second, AFF images consume less disk space than images in other formats (e.g., EnCase images). This paper also describes the Advanced Disk Imager (AImage),a new program for acquiring disk images that compares favorably with existing alternatives.

Advanced Forensic Format: An Open, Extensible… : DASH Story 2025-10-02
Both my former Boss/and mentor, and former supervisor/owner/CEO graduated in different fields from Harvard. These are by far the highest performing humans I have ever interacted with in over 30 years in various careers. My first boss graduated from Harvard law [...]. My second boss and supervisor graduated from the Business sector of Harvard. However, they both told me, to go to Harvard. I realized Harvard may not be obtainable in my life circumstance. But both of their words still ring true as encouragement to this day. That being said both former supervisors knew, knowledge and information should never be gate-kept for the elites. Neither of my former supervisors came from prestigious backgrounds. They used the information in front of them, just like these empirical research articles to build an empire, brick by brick with quality education. Now that Harvard has made these crucial articles available to individuals such as myself, I am headed to be qualified in a field I never thought obtainable—perhaps Harvard Law will be an option in the future now. I cannot thank Harvard enough for doing this, you have changed my life for the better indefinitely both financially and intellectually. History will remember the Harvard administration for doing the most noble act when our country was under an information and freedom of speech attack by a fascist government. Harvard admins: thank you would be an understatement. I will never forget your kind acts for public good.
