Abstract

The article focuses on the influence of the novel "The Metamorphosis" by Franz Kafka on the writing of the author Vladimir Nabokov. It discusses examples of where the influence can be observed, including Nabokov's novel "Look at the Harlequins!". Nabokov's views on realist fiction are explored and his work as a teacher of Kafka's literature is discussed.
