Abstract

The manner in which liquid surfaces can be studied by X-ray scattering is briefly reviewed. References are given to recent experimental results on the average electron density along the surface normal, on thermally induced roughness of liquid surfaces, and on the two-dimensional ordered structures of insoluble monolayers on liquid surfaces.
