Story
Consumption, Consumerism, and Japanese Modernity… : DASH Story 2014-08-22
I work at a Japanese university which has limited access to international academic journals. Ironically, this makes it difficult to follow research on Japanese history published outside Japan without facing an unaffordable fee. Journals and publishers often assume that all academics have institutional access to their publications, but outside the US and Europe, this is not the case. This is why I very much appreciate any attempt to make research more widely available on a global level, including this one at Harvard.
