Abstract

Knowledge concerning the importance of good sleep health is lacking in the general population, but particularly among Hispanics. “Promotores” are Spanish speaking health care workers in Hispanic communities who act to help their neighbors access health care and social services, and educate their peers about disease and injury prevention. The attached files are a training manual which can be used to teach promotores and other health care workers about the importance of good sleep health, the diagnosis and treatment of common sleep disorders and some “tips” to improve sleep. It is presented in an appropriate cultural context, and has been tested for its usefulness in a group of promotores.
