Abstract
In less than a century, recent technological developments have changed the way we interact with music. Individuals can create music by dragging and dropping notes into a digital audio workstation and use virtual studio technology to emulate existing instruments. At the same time, these developments have also allowed people to create virtual instruments, which previously required extensive coding knowledge. This thesis will touch on the history of digital music production and conduct a thorough investigation for synthesizing a virtual instrument through harmonic structure, temporal profile, and phase offset analysis of electric guitar.
