Abstract

Although patient-reported outcomes can complement clinician-reported measures and are viewed as critical outcomes by patients with acne, they are underutilized in acne clinical studies. While several validated investigator global assessment scales are available to evaluate acne severity, there is no analogous, validated patient global assessment (PtGA) of acne severity. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the measurement properties of a novel acne PtGA for use in clinical studies to enable better capture of the patient perspective regarding their disease severity.
