Abstract
In this Capstone, I tell the story of my learning-leadership journey as a Senior Program Fellow at Facing History and Ourselves (FHAO), where I reported to FHAO’s New England Program Director, Dr. Elizabeth ‘Lizzy’ Carroll. Specifically, I explore what it takes for a well-established organization like FHAO to expand its work and impact to include new focus areas, in this case– the history of Indigenous people in the U.S. – while also clarifying and strengthening its core work. Additionally, I reflect on how an organization led by a diverse group of executives examines and works to shift its culture in relation to its espoused values.
