I'm away from my home institution in a small beach town, writing about classroom discussion and civic engagement. I've read Meira Levinson's book, but I have not read this handbook chapter that a number of articles are citing. I have on-line access to journal articles, but handbook chapters, so helpful in getting a sense of a field, are usually a dead end. Today it wasn't, and she has a nuanced view of the civic education gap and an expressive flair that helped me in my writing and with a proposal.
