Through Google Scholar searches, I frequently run across articles from your open access. I appreciate the opportunity to tell you of the personal value of this service. The National Academies Press (nap.edu) does much the same thing, and my gratitude is the same. You are enriching my life tremendously. I am retired, 76 years of age, with degrees and experience in Physics and Engineering. Only a passing contact with what are called the social sciences in my professional life. Since my retirement, your open access and the nap.edu have facilitated my own self-education in these topics. The knowledge I have gained make me a better citizen, able to bring substantive and tested knowledge to bear on my civic duties. I am able to take the helm in public dialogues which I choose to join, and (I dare say) become an opinion leader within my social circles. Personally, you have brought many of those "ah-ha" moments, when a puzzlement is clarified. I savor those, and they remind me of my undergraduate days, studying physics
