I am teaching a survey course in book history, and had used JSTOR access to give my students Prof. Darnton's 1982 essay as our introduction. Finding this 2007 revision allows me to give them his later thoughts, and to round out our survey in a contemporary way: having access to the Adams & Barker socio-economic diagram supports my course's conclusions clearly and tangibly.
