This article has affected me, and supported my work in 2 ways. One, I have access to it – which isn't true for most licensed resources for folks who live and work in the community. Access to different ways of thinking and problem solving makes me better at what I do. Having open access helps me understand situations, possible approaches, and designing different approaches—i.e. to do my work better. Second is the content. I'm a practitioner who supports leaders in public sector organizations (government or non-profit). My specialty is co-designing innovations in human systems. So understanding how we know what we know what to do—and how to figure out how to think differently—is challenging. My academic background and area of professional practice is not sociology or indeed any of the 'people' specialties, so I'm always doing self-directed learning in these areas. I hadn't run across the discussion on sociology of knowledge before and I think this will be relevant to my growing understanding that our thinking, problem solving and behaviour is deeply influenced by our worldview and archetypal narrative.
