I am a student of mechanical engineering at Makerere University. I too have post-traumatic epilepsy. I have been experiencing the memory impairment as a side-effect of the anticonvulsant, tegretol, which I've been taking for the past three years.
I'd like to thank her for posting this course paper on the subject because it confirmed my suspicions and it has brought to light the fact that there are still many issues yet to be addressed when it comes to the prescription of anticonvulsants, especially to students. For once I truly feel I'm not alone and now I have the courage to speak about this issue with my psychiatrist and my family. I am going to email this pdf to them. Again, thank you.
