As a union advocate I am responsible for providing training in negotiations for the members I represent. For years, my union's model of bargaining training focused heavily on strategy & tactics to be used at the table, data analysis, etc. Training of this sort is important—but is also admittedly incomplete for bringing about large-scale change that will make substantive differences in the well-being of workers who rely on collective bargaining to advance their position in life. I have been moving to incorporate more organizing strategies into a larger bargaining process—and this tool has helped me to access resources that can be used for doing just that.
