After working for a university as a researcher for 15 years, I was downgraded from full employee to consultant for bureaucratic reasons. In the process, I lost my library privileges, which has made it harder for me to do my job. During my research, I am always grateful when I come across a free article. I believe that all research should be made available for free or at low cost to scholars across the world--especially to those much needier than I am.
