I'm professor at the School of Medicine of the University of Santiago de Compostela (Spain). I'm also a PI of my own group of research in Endocrinology From five years ago the economical ""Crisis"" has accosted hard the research and teaching at the public universities: no funds for doctorands that work for free, reduced number of projects with the result of more master thesis presented as "bibliographic" research instead of in the lab, more computer practical courses for students instead of directly using ECG or Spirometers because there is no money for mouth pieces, or electrodes... ...and no money for electronic journals! Without this, is practically impossible to maintain updated, even if we not only teach at the Medical School but present new Results to hospital clinicians in Continual Medical Education lectures. Thanks to Harvard, my group of research, my medical students, my colleagues at the hospital and Myself, are able read good science and be updated.
