Abstract
In the practice of modern tarot is a vibrant and meaningful confluence between forms of divination and the principles of spiritual care. This thesis, a creative project and supplemental essay, is the creator’s personal exploration of the ministerial potential that emerges from this space. The So Damn Divine Oracle includes original artwork and writing; it is a playful reinterpretation of tarot, as well as a creative and scholarly study of contemplative technologies. The essay is grounded in the author’s spiritual heritage, a history of both tarot and oracles, as well as “shared wisdom” and religious concepts that speak to the oracular potential of all people.
